Catching up

I have lots to catch up on. I haven't written a post in quite some time. Our anniversary was a lot of fun. I decided to get Oswald a wooden pen and I bought him two silver mint julep cups. He really liked them both. I premade the mint juleps and after he opened his gifts, we had our drinks before we went out to dinner. He got me a nice silver vase from a silver shop here in Atlanta and for the wooden gift, he bought me a blackberry bush. We love blackberries so I hope that they will grow. He planted it yesterday. We went out to eat at Joel. We used to live next door to the restaurant and ate there all the time and loved it. It is just not the same though. Oz requested my favorite dish and they didn't make it and our favorite wine steward is gone, etc. But we still had a nice night. We went and got a milk shake from Steak-n-Shake afterwards!

Last week Ethan and I went to Hiawassee so that Aunt Frances and Uncle Fred could see him for the first time. We had a lot of fun. Dad took Ethan (well, I was holding him) for a ride on the mule (this is a 6 wheeler, not a real mule). Oh my gosh, Ethan loved it. We also took Ethan out to see the bull dozer and back hoe that Cotton was using to cut down the trees in Dad's pasture. Ethan is pure boy, because he just went crazy for the big machines. I think that he probably had the most fun of his life that day. Too bad he won't remember it. He also got to meet Uncle Ron for the first time and went for a ride on Aunt Becky's mule. I went and got a massage so that was nice for me!

Yesterday was Ethan's first Easter. Everyone at church lavished him with gifts of stuffed animals. They are so nice! We didn't get Ethan an Easter basket because I just assumed I couldn't fill it with anything other than cheerios, LOL. Chris also got him stuffed animals and so did Sarah and Aunt Frances. Mom gave Ethan some dough for his turtle. Yay!

I went to work today. I worked half a day and had a good time with everyone. Oz and Ethan had some male bonding time. When I got home, the house was a wreck. But I am sure they had fun!

Guess that is all for now.

We are SO going with you the next time you head up north! Eli would have a ball with the "earth moving equipment." His favorite word is "tractor." Hearing him say "bulldozer" is always entertaining. Eli screams in glee whenever he sees construction on the side of the road.
